Title: Psyllium-Seed Setting Lotion
Categories: Hair *
Yield: 4 Ounces

1tbPsyllium seeds
1cHot water
1tbVodka

Psyllium seeds are produced by a plant in the plantain family and are used in hair-setting products because they create a thick gel. This gel surrounds the hair, helping it to hold a set. If you have very dry hair, cut down on hte amount of alcohol or leave it out altogether.

Soak the psyllium seeds in the hot water for at least 30 mintues. The liquid will become clear and thick. Strain out the seeds and discard. You should have approximately 1/2 c of liquid. If you have more, simply measure out 1/2 cup and either save or discard the rest. Add the vodka to the 1/2 cup psyllium gel and stir well. Store in a clean container with a tight-fitting lid. Use this lotion to set your hair.
